Sheikh Naim Qassem

Hizbollah Deputy Secretary General - Lebanon

- Born in 1953 in the town of (Kafarfila) - South Lebanon

-Married and has 6 children (4 males and 2 females)

-He achieved his higher religious education under senior religious figures in Lebanon.

-BA in chemistry (Lebanese University).

-He taught chemistry for high school classes for six years.

-He efficiently participated in founding the Lebanese Union for Muslim Students in the Seventies.

-He took part in establishing and launching the Islamic Religious Teaching in Lebanon in 1977 and in building modern Islamic schools.

-He worked with Imam Moussa Sadr in the beginning of the founding of the (Mahroumin) or (The Deprived) movement.

-He contributed in the establishment of Hizbollah in 1982.

-He has been Hizbollah`s deputy secretary general since 1991, for seven consecutive rounds.

-He is charged with following up the field of parliamentary activity in Hizbollah.

-He lectured in various cultural subjects that are documented within a cultural archive that comprises over one thousand lectures dealing with cultural, educational, religious and other issues.

-He has significant political contributions in television, radio and newspaper interviews, as well participations in various ceremonies and forums.

-Participated in many conferences in Lebanon, Syria, Germany, Sudan and Iran.

-Headed the intellectual conference for the 100th anniversary of Imam Khomeini, that was held in Beirut in 1999.

-A member of the Arab Popular Committee for the support of the Palestinian Intifada.

-Author of many books pertaining cultural, educational religious and political matters, and they are as follows:

· The Book was issued in English language by the (Saqi) publisher in London - Britain, entitled: Hizbollah, the story from within.

· The book was also published in Persian language in Iran by the (Itla'at) publisher, entitled: Hizbollah - Lebanon.
